Sam Paonessa was born in Niagara Falls, Canada and received an AOCA from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. There he was awarded a studio scholarship giving him valuable experience in his field. This led to his first studio position with TDF Artists as a junior illustrator. He later was employed and is currently staff illustrator for Hallmark Cards Canada. Over the years, the artist has created more than 400 images appearing on both cards and calendars. His work has received recognition in a number of juried shows and many of his paintings are found in corporate collections. Two of his paintings were recently published by Canadian Art Prints to posters. The artist enjoys working both in and out for studio and painting subjects of personal significance, especially his love of God's creation.
